Bristol and the West of England's LGBTQ+ centre project.
OUTspace at a Glance
OUTspace is a project to bring an LGBTQ+ centre to Bristol, one of the only major English cities without one.
We are currently seeking to buy a building in Old Market from Bristol City Council.
This building will contain:
A community cafe
A Queer library/event space
Multiple counselling spaces
A meeting/function room

We aim to give every member of the LGBTQ+ communities somewhere that they can feel safe and without judgement.

Activities
Bringing Change

Queer Library
We want to create a library containing all of the books that the Queer communities want, as well as having space to archive and display Bristol's Queer history. This can be used for events and functions, and we will be holding special events in this space too.

Community Cafe
At OUTspace, we believe that food is central to communities, and affordable food is central to community mental health. Our community cafe focuses on creating a space that people can socialise in without feeling the need to drink.
We have plans to use this space to distribute food boxes and to allow pop-ups to rent it for a reasonable price.
Any profit from the cafe will go towards running programs and projects to benefit the community.

Counselling Spaces
After COVID19, the West of England's LGBTQ+ communities have hit an all-time low in terms of mental health. There are planned to be multiple counselling rooms, including a group space, that can be used by Queer/LGBTQ+ counsellors and services at a reduced rate to keep mental health support affordable.
